Earned his law degree from the Faculdade Católica de Direito of Santos and a master’s in Social Relations Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica of São Paulo (PUC/SP).  With more than 30 years of experience in Criminal Law, he served as a criminal justice at the former Appellate Court for Criminal Matters in São Paulo and at the São Paulo State Appellate Court, from 1996 until 2013.
